A lot has happened…

Hello,

If you’re one of the 3 people who actually visit this site, thanks for coming by! But I also wanted to give an update on what’s been going on with me. First let’s start of that this blog will now become my own personal journal. I’m gainfully employed doing Online Marketing for a reputable company, so I don’t need to post my thoughts about that stuff here since I’m actually practicing what I’ve preached.

fOk so let’s get going…Well, where do I start, oh ya, I got divorced. All my kids live with me, we are doing well. Our home is messy, our dogs bar a lot and we drink too much coffee. We laugh at fart jokes, stuff about periods and me dating again. It’s never a dull moment in my home.

Another big thing that has happened is actually grew my hair out! Ya I know for some people that’s not a big deal. But I had kept it short, #1 for over 15 years. As soon as I got separated I let it grow. Yes I actually have a full head of hair, I’m not bald or going bald. But I do have a spot on my scalp where its bare. That’s because when I was a kid, some kid threw a large rock and it hit my head, which scared over.

Within the 2016-2017 I took the time to really discover myself. I got more into motorcycles, whiskey and cigars. I also got into building stuff with my hands. I find that working with my hands is somewhat therapeutic. It helps me feel competent and that I have some sort of manly skill that I can offer. I mean it’s like a primitive desire that men have that they are able to offer something to a potential mate. Just picture a cave man trying to impress a cave woman…he wants to show off his skills to woo the ladies right? I suppose working on cars, motorcycles and building stuff is kinda like my way of peacocking to potential mates…lol

Anyhow during this time period I was able to do some really cool stuff like sky dive with my brother and daughter, get a tattoo, buy and sell a bunch of motorcycles and be part of a Yamaha Motorcycles commercial! How cool is that eh?

All that stuff is great and all, but there were some tough times. Getting divorced messes a person up. Plus having to be there for your own kids during this time is another tough situation to deal with. But lord willing, things are working out.

Rather than me boring you with details, you might want to just check out my Instagram and get a pictorial view of what life has been like for me.

Until next time!

Why it’s important to publish a blog article multiple times a day

Let’s say you have a blog and you only update it once in a while. Some employees who oversee that part of the business may feel like they have nothing to talk about thus the blog doesn’t get updated. But what if I told you that when you publish an article you’re letting search engines know that you’ve got something new.

Now imagine that happening a few times a day! That’s one of the things we specialize in at RLPolicar.com. We’re known to publish up to 200 articles per week for the clients we work with. We also make sure that it’s on different blog platforms too. For example, we’ll use two different platforms, one article is on Blogger and another on WordPress. By publishing on two different platforms, you’re letting search engines know that there’s new content in two different places. Which is a good thing especially if your blogs talk about your company/product or services.

When people ask me how often should they be blogging, I tell them “as often as you can.” Meaning as much as you can in one day. But you have to do it EVERYDAY to get the best impact. I’ve worked with companies where all they want is 1-2 articles per month, in all honesty that won’t be as effective as 1-2 per day. Basically, the more articles, the better. Search engines love fresh content and by publishing new articles per day, the more popular you are on the results.

Social Media means YOU being more Social

So what do I mean by being “Social?” It’s pretty simple. You have to be your own brand’s best ambassador. I’ll give you an example. Yesterday I was at a store and I noticed that they had a small signed that said, “find us on Facebook.” I immediately asked the clerk who handles their Social Media and she told me that it was a collection of the employees who really didn’t know what they were doing. So I began to tell her about my services and what I can do. From that I got the contact info of the owner of the company.

That interaction was of me being “social.” I gotta be gut level honest with you. I come from an IT background and us IT folks have a reputation to be introverted so being social doesn’t really come easy to me as it does for folks out there. But just being out going isn’t really enough. You also have to be somewhat friendly to the people you deal with, right? Besides, who’s going to want to work with a Social Media guy who’s a jerk or condescending? I know I wouldn’t.

With that in mind let’s list some things down that might help you with your branding/social media efforts when interacting with REAL people.

1. Be friendly.
2. Smile.
3. Ask questions directed towards the person you’re talking to. People love talking about themselves (More on that later).
4. Engage in conversation about their business.
5. Tell them about you and your brand.

I know some of these things are basic human interaction things that we all do on a daily basis, but heck some of us can easily forget. Hopefully this helps!
